Get Well Wishes

I was overwhelmed at the amount of get well wishes I received while at Sunshine terrace. I not only received many cards and flowers, but lots visitors. Thanks to everyone for making my days brighter while I was there and in so much pain.

Well friends, as most of you know I broke both of my legs on September 27th while on vacation. I spent 7 weeks of rehabilitation at Sunshine Terrace, which was my home away from home. I am now home and attending out patient therapy. Things are moving forward, and I am looking forward to continued success in my healing process.

I just wanted to post a few pics from Sunshine terrace, so everyone could see how nice the facility was. They took great care of me!

LDS Young Women/ Young Men theme for 2012

This year we have had a lot of fun with the Young Women in our ward. Being in the Young Women's Presidency can be very time challenging, but it is so worth the rewards. It seems as though our Young Women's group is growing smaller and our girls are getting older, but we enjoy every moment with them as a presidency.  We may be getting smaller, but the small can be mighty!

Here is a message from Elder L Tom Perry regarding our theme for this year. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

The Love of My Life!

I wanted to take a moment to share a few thoughts about the most important person in my life.
He's the most amazing person I've ever known. That would be my Husband!!!!
Eric has been there for me through good and bad, happy and sad. He's always believed in my abilities, and encouraged me to fine tune my talents. He taught me how to become independent and strong, while retaining my thoughtfulness and caring qualities. He's stood by me through everything life has thrown at us, and this is what makes him so amazing to me! He's my best friend, and love.

I enjoy the way he reaches for my hand as we walk next to each other. He doesn't mind kissing me in public, or showing me the affection he feels for me. I think he's the most wonderful and handsome husband I could have ever asked for, and I am so grateful to him for loving me so much! I am a blessed woman.

My Baby Girl turns 23 today!

Seems unreal that my little Haleigh bug is 23 years old today! I remember trying so hard to deliver her on the 12th, because my husband's grandmother was very superstitious and did not want her born on the 13th! Unfortunately I ran out of energy, and our sweet girl was born at 12:07 am on July 13th. Although, I do have to say it was a Thursday! Thursday's have always been a good luck day for me, all good things always happen to me on Thursday's, so I shouldn't have been surprised that the baby I always wanted and longed for arrived on a Thursday.

It was a very long and hard delivery, in fact I went into shock and needed a blood transfusion immediately after she was born. Even though it was one of the most difficult times of my life, it was so worth it! I have been so blessed to have been given such a beautiful gift from God.

Happy Birthday Haleigh Trista Hafslund

This picture was taken at Haleigh's 1st Birthday Party. Once again, Eric's grandmother did not want to celebrate Haleigh's birthday on Friday the 13th, so we held a party for her on Saturday the 14th!
This was Haleigh's first experience with refined sugar, so needless to say, she had lots of energy to run off after she ate some of her b-day cake!

Our Shorkies (The Boys)

I decided to share a couple of pics of our Shorkies. They hate the camera, so getting shots of them can be really tricky and is sometimes rare. When they first joined our family over 3 years ago, they were 5 months old and had no training. It took me about 6 months to potty train them, but consistency paid off and they have not had an accident in the house for over 2 years. They still like to bark at people as they walk past our house, but I guess that's what little dogs are for. They get so excited when they see people, they just bark as if saying, " Welcome to our home! Please come in and play with us!".  They sure are sweet little boys, and we love having them in our family!

Connor (above) is such a loverboy! He enjoys getting lots of attention, and sharing snuggles with everyone! He just goes crazy when someone rides by on a bike! He would be very happy if we let him out of the yard to chase them down the street! But that just wouldn't be safe.

Buddy is slightly smaller than Connor and has a curly tail. He is like a little teddy bear. He loves to have his belly rubbed. He is in love with one of the Chua Chua'a that live next door (Diva is her name). He will sit at the corner of the chain link fence that faces her house and wait to catch a glimps of her. He will sit there all day if we let him! He is a real sweetheart and can be a real mama's boy!

Trying to be motivated to keep a Blog!

Wow!
Can I just say that I am not good at keeping a blog.
It's not that I don't have plenty of projects or activities to blog about, it's just that I work on a computer all day, and I don't take the time to log on to my computer at home and update my happenings after I get off work!
I've committed myself today to try and do better. So we'll see how it goes!

Haleigh returns from her mission in 3 weeks!

These photo's were taken a couple of weeks before Haleigh left for her LDS church Mission to Jacksonville Florida. I can't believe she's been gone almost 18 months! She has had so many wonderful experiences, and I love every email and letter she sends us.

These photo's were taken while in the mission field. Her smile is so contagious, I miss seeing it every day! Well, not for much longer! I can't wait to see her in 20 days!
